WaldorfMinds is an app where students, families, teachers, alumni and schools around the world share what they make, learn from each other, and meet in real life. It’s free, it has no ads, and it’s made by volunteers.
Hello from the team
We’re nine volunteers: Waldorf students, alumni, parents and teachers in Italy, Germany, Hungary and the United States. WaldorfMinds began in 2022 with one student in Florence, and we’ve been building it together ever since.

Instead of one endless feed, the app has four areas, each with its own purpose. Pick one to have a look.
Reflections & Gallery
Share thoughts, photos and moments from school life. Discover shows what’s new: the latest members, reflections, and the questions people are asking each other.
The Gallery is for the things you make: a main lesson book, a painting, a song from the class concert.
Events & Exchanges
Schools share their bazaars, open days, performances and talks, so you can see what’s happening nearby, or far away.
In Exchanges you’ll find exchanges, internships, au-pair stays and volunteering at Waldorf schools and kindergartens, or on farms that host students.
Learn & Forum
Ask questions in the Forum and think them through with parents, teachers and alumni from other countries.
Under Resources you’ll find Waldorf Resources from the Pedagogical Section at the Goetheanum, and Art of Educating, the Erziehungskunst magazine.
Map & Chat
The map is the Steiner Waldorf World Map from steinerwaldorf.world, made by the Freunde der Erziehungskunst and the Hague Circle. We didn’t build it: we’ve embedded it, so you can find more than 1,300 schools, nearly 2,000 kindergartens, training centres, federations and ecological projects in one place.
In Chat, a conversation starts with a short introduction, and only goes on if both of you agree.
Small stories we’re building for
None of these need an app to happen. But they happen more easily when schools and families can find each other.

A class in Italy finds a partner school in Germany. The next spring, four students spend three months there.

A family moving abroad finds the nearest Waldorf kindergarten before the boxes are even unpacked.

Many of us grew up in Waldorf schools. These four things come from there, and they shape every choice we make in the app.

The app should respect your time. Find what you need, then put your phone down.

Exchanges, festivals and visits matter more to us than time spent online.

Painting, music, crafts and writing have a real place in the app, not just text and photos.

Looking after younger members
Many of our members are still at school, so some protections are built right into the app. No setting can switch them off.
- Minimum age 14If you’re 14 or 15, you need a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
- Protected messagesMembers under 18 can only send private messages to other students.
- Real schoolsOur team checks every school and organisation by hand before it gets a profile.
- People read every reportSomeone on our team looks at every report. Concerns about young people always come first.

Your school is probably already on the Steiner Waldorf World Map we’ve embedded in the app. You can claim it in a few minutes, and we check every request within 24 hours.
Then share your open days, events, exchanges and projects with Waldorf families and schools around the world. It’s all free.
