Software Development & Technical Mentorship

Simone is a Waldorf parent and experienced programmer who handles much of the technical development of the platform.

Simone, Waldorf Parent, has been involved with Waldorf education since his daughter began school as a 3 year old. Now that she is completing the final grades at her school in Rome, Italy and preparing to transition to the public school, he hopes that WaldorfMinds will help his family and others maintain links to the Waldorf community. He believes the WaldorfMinds app can be a bridge between the modern world and the gentle, welcoming atmosphere experienced in Waldorf schools. WaldorfMinds can be seen as a bridge that unites us across the globe sharing similar experiences from different cultures. Simone and his family experienced real change when their daughter came to her Waldorf school. The participation in this community made them mindful about every aspect of how they were living. This awareness transformed their home, filling it with art and music, natural fabrics, colors, and more. They were the same as before, but different! Waldorf let them slow down and keep an eye to what this beautiful world can be. Simone brings software skills and programmer knowledge to the team doing the heavy lifting of coding for the App. He provides mentorship to the young team and delights in their creativity. When he is not creating code or being a dad and truly has some free time, he enjoys playing the guitar and traveling when possible. He is truly thrilled to be part of this project.

We've got the answers for your questions

Who can join WaldorfMinds?

WaldorfMinds is open to high school students (from age 14), parents, teachers, and alumni of Waldorf schools worldwide. Each group has its own dedicated spaces and community features designed to fit their needs.

Is WaldorfMinds safe for younger users?

Absolutely. Safety is central to everything we do. All accounts require phone number verification, the platform follows clear community guidelines, and a team of moderators reviews content. Students under 18 have specific protections — including restrictions on private messaging with users from other community groups.

How is WaldorfMinds different from other social networks?

WaldorfMinds is purpose-built for the Waldorf community, not the general public. There are no ads, no algorithmic feeds designed to keep you scrolling, and no pressure to perform. Every feature — from Reflections to Exchanges — is designed to foster genuine connection, creativity, and real-world experiences.

Is the platform free to use?

Yes. WaldorfMinds is a community-driven project supported by donations and foundations. Our goal is to keep the platform accessible to everyone in the Waldorf world, regardless of where they are or what resources they have.

What do you gain from creating WaldorfMinds?

Nothing financial — every member of our team works as a volunteer, and every donation goes directly into building, moderating, and sustaining the platform. What we gain is harder to put a price on: the chance to build something meaningful with people who share our values, and to give back to a community that shaped who we are.
